A vintage / antique blog to accompany Aquamarine Dream Vintage (aquamarinedream.etsy.com)! Dreamy, whimsical, quirky, weird delights from the past. Victorian oddities, 50s kitsch, chiffon prom dresses and spooky dolls. I have (and love) it all. I'll be sharing my favorite shop updates here, and also my best finds from local auctions, eBay, and more.

Vintage midcentury kitchen kitsch holy grail: Lefton / Ucagco Japan’s iconic bluebird. This cheery Disney-esque passerine appeared in many forms: wall hangings (like the one above); teapots; jam jars; mugs; salt and pepper shakers; butter dishes… an extensive chorus of deliciously colorful, glossy cartoon cuteness. I thought I’d finally found enough Lefton bluebirds to sate my appetite, but this eBay listing brought out the old “gotta catch ‘em all” hunger.
